This is the old Fire Station. The fire brigade was established 3rd of January 1939. The same year the station and tower for drying hoses were built. The fire station and equipment were financed through a property tax of 1,2/1000.

The first pump was manual and had to be filled by using buckets. In 1940 two motor pumps were purchased and in 1947 Henningsvær got its own fire boat complete with water “gun” and hydrant for 6 hoses.
