FESTIVITETEN

Festiviteten was built by Henningsvær shooters association. The house originally stood in Svolvær and was owned by Lofoten Motorfabrikk and they produced boat engines marked HEIN. The motor factory went bankrupt and the shooters association bought the building, dismantled it and moved it to Heningsvær. It was erected on the site of Drejer’s old cowshed.

All the work was voluntary. The house was opened on 5th of December 1925 at a cost of NOK 20 500,-and presented to the citizens of Heningsvær and given the name Festiviteten.
